PATRICIA ROBERTS
CLARSACH PLAYER
Engagements.
Last year I played and sang in more than twenty of the stately homes and castles in Scotland. My most frequent “haunts”were: Dundas Castle (near Edinburgh); Culzean Castle (Ayrshire); Glamis castle (Angus); Culcreuch Castle (near Glasgow); Dalmeny House (near Edinburgh) and Stirling Castle.
I also entertained guests at Gleneagles Hotel (Perthshire), Turnberry Hotel (Ayrshire), and on ocean liners including the QE2 (twice)
I have also played clarsach and sung at Burns’ Suppers as far afield as Munich (Germany) and Stavanger (Norway) and at a Scottish Evening in the Natural History Museum in Kensington, London.
Other trips abroad include the L’Orient Celtic Festival in Brittany, France (three times) and Evansville, Indiana, U.S.A., where I represented Europe at a dinner featuring musicians from all six continents.
My engagements for the forthcoming year include visits to several stately homes and castles that are “new” to me ,and I look forward to performing in “uncharted territory", as well as renewing old acquaintances.
